You can also download ipa files.  Most apps and games are in ipa file format.

After download the files, open iTunes and drag the file to Apps window. Apps section is on the left of iTunes screen and below Library.  After you drag the file you will see the icon in the Apps window, after that use mouse select your iPhone in iTunes and click Sync.
