i thought you mean the installers coming in for phone, tv cable, internet or appliances...
big company and one man company charge about the same. unless you are hiring some mainlander  ...

I understood you meant those installers，what I didn't understand was the !!! We tried to shop for good contractors(those that have good reviews), which in this small city, wouldn't make much differences whether it's supposedly a big or small company!!!

actually painting is easier than you thought...
two friends and i painted a 900 sqft apartment and changed the hardwood floors in less than two days.  just typical white paint covering the old white paint and placing those home depot hardwood floor is just like playing lego.
