It was news to Gasol that another franchise record was on the line Monday -- coaching victories. Phil Jackson (533-254) tied Pat Riley (533-194) with Sunday's victory at Boston.

"Not mediocre, but it was good and bad," said Gasol, noting the games where the club had leads and let them get away. Jackson pointed to Toronto and Memphis as games the Lakers should have won.

The Lakers lost only 17 games in 2008-09, but Charlotte accounted for two of the losses: 117-110 last Jan. 27 at home, and 94-84 March 31 in Charlotte.
