WhitehavenBeach is known for its white sands. The sand consists of 98% pure公仔箱論壇7 N* j5 ]& j+ P+ G. r. o8 y
silica
/ G2 g. k' l2 f7 q4 Xtvb now,tvbnow,bttvbwhich gives it a bright white color.Local rocks do not contain silica so it has been suggested that the sands werebrought to the beach via prevailing sea currents over millions of years.. b6 H7 p( e! C, W
Unlikeregular sand, the sand on Whitehaven Beach does not retain heat making itcomfortable to walk barefoot on a hot day. This sand is also very fine, and candamage electronic equipment such as telephones and cameras, although it is goodat polishing up jewellery. |
