Laval midfielder Francis Coquelin is Arsenal’s first summer signing according to reports in the French press.
The Gunners are yet to make an official announcement regarding the 17-year-old Frenchman, who has impressed Arsene Wenger with the Ligue 2 side’s reserves.
It has been claimed by the domestic press that the promising player has committed his future to the North London side.
The Laval-born midfielder comes to England for free, having left Laval earlier in May. Coquelin spent a few days at training with Arsenal during the season, and has convinced Wenger he can be a player for the future.
The Gunners are very active in the French market this summer, as Marseille’s Samir Nasri has been offered the chance to cross The Channel.
Paris Saint Germain’s Clement Chantome is reportedly another target for the Emirates Stadium outfit, as well as St Etienne duo Blaise Matuidi and Mouhamadou Dabo. |
