Aiding the tail funnel there are also cooling panels on the upper leading edge of the sidepod, either side of the cockpit padding and various panels arund the rear of the coke bottle shape. Different panels will be used depending the cooling and\or drag demands of the of the track.
It's a great car, but mclaren missed too many opportunities early in the season, when clearly they had the best car. Now Red Bull has caught up and Ferrari is not far behind.
I'm by no stretch an Alonso fan, but were it not for Newey, Alonso would be the winner. Alonso did everything he could, but the late season comeback of the red bull car proved to be too much.
