Alisher Usmanov says he has invested in the 'world's best football club' and hopes his links with Arsenal will benefit Russian football.


The billionaire's Red and White Holdings group took its stake in The Gunners to 23 per cent last week, although Usmanov is not planning a takeover.

Instead, Usmanov is keen for his association with Arsenal to be a springboard for increasing the popularity of football in Russia.
