Malaysia Mandarin is short and to the point.

I never heard about it....

but, i do speak cantonese instead of mandarin. coz most of the KL ppl speak cantonese.
很好。。。很好。。。
A few jobs ago I used to work with an older lady from Malaysia who loved to speak Canto to me when she knew I could speak it (her family speaks Hokkien at home)

I didn't know then that in Malaysian Canto, 溝 = dollar = 元/蚊

and "lui" = money = 錢

So the first time the conversation got to money, she said something like (can't remember exactly): "而家出面啲野好貴,去飲餐茶都要成五十溝(AUD),你趁年輕要揾多啲lui啦"

hahaha, so funny.  I have Malaysian friends here too, and I knew 溝 is dollar but not "lui" .
A little green earthling, living life as if there were no tomorrow.

It's not exactly pronounced 女 which has a flat tone - it's higher pitched. Chinese Malaysians can explain...

A bit like how Hongkies say
...
26# puti
