Barca on brink of signing
Barcelona are close to capturing defender Henrique from Palmeiras, the Brazilian club confirmed on Saturday.
New Barca coach Josep Guardiola is working hard to overhaul the squad he inherited from Frank Rijkaard and has already recruited Seydou Keita, Gerard Pique and Martin Caceres, with Dani Alves also set to join from Sevilla.
Not content with signing three defenders, Guardiola is now poised to add a fourth in the figure of Henrique.
An €8 million (£6.3 million) deal is close to completion for the 21-year-old with a statement on Palmeiras’ official website revealing that the player is “in the final stage of negotiations with FC Barcelona.”
Barca are also in negotiations to sign another Brazilian, Sao Paulo’s Hernanes, and have been strongly linked with Arsenal pair Alexander Hleb and Emmanuel Adebayor. |
