Coach not interested in 'gifts'
France boss Raymond Domenech has defended his decision not to involve Mathieu Flamini against England.
Domenech's men ran out 1-0 victors at the Stade de France on Wednesday night after Franck Ribery struck a 32nd minute penalty.
Flamini remained on the bench for the encounter, a decision which has been questioned by some following the midfielder's excellent form for his club Arsenal.
But Domenech has backed his judgment, while insisting that the 24-year-old will soon get an opportunity to add to his first international cap - which he won last November against Morocco.
"Why didn't I play Mathieu Flamini? My job is not to please people or offer gifts. His time will come," he said. |
