Forgotten Frenchman Yann M’Vila could yet get a chance to redeem himself as Arsenal have renewed their interest in the Rennes midfielder, reports the Metro.
The 21 year old holding midfielder was poised to sign for the English club in the summer but the deal broke down over the player’s poor discipline. Since then, M’Vila has faced a downward spiral, and Rennes are keen to offload him on a cut-price deal at just 8 million pounds.
The Frenchman’s talent is however in no doubt, as there are numerous clubs lining up for his signature, notably Tottenham, QPR and CSKA Moscow. Arsenal could really use a player of M’Vila’s quality in the defensive midfield role, especially as they failed to replace Alex Song, and although Mikel Arteta has performed admirably, the side needs a defensive minded player to
utilize the Spaniard’s creativity more.
Arsenal are also mulling a move for legendary striker Thierry Henry, who could also join in the January transfer window for a second loan spell. ‘I have not lost interest in him. I have not ruled out a move completely,’ Wenger said, just a week after he announced that he was not interested to bring back the talismanic Frenchman back to the Emirates.
