Cassandra Smith, 49, from Donnithorne Avenue in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, was found dead on Tuesday morning.

A post-mortem test found she died of natural causes and was bitten after she died. Warwickshire Police said it was not treating the death as suspicious.

Police said the dog, which was approximately five months old and was found in a bedroom with the woman, had been destroyed following consultation with the family.
