Kubica has had a solid season for the team, scoring his first careerpole and victory. However, since the British Grand Prix, he has justtwo podium results compared to four to start the season.

Despite four second placefinishes and 10 point scoring finishes in 15 races, the German hasstruggled in qualifying this year. The announcement also puts to rest reports that BMW-Sauber wereconsidering making a run for Fernando Alonso in 2009. The Spaniard isbelieved to be considering his options for next year with Honda andRenault now looking like the two most obvious options available for him.
