The German manufacturer, currently third in the constructorschampionship, says it has opted for "continuity" adding that ChristianKlien will also return as the team's test driver.

Heidfeld's future was a lot less certain. Despite four second placefinishes and 10 point scoring finishes in 15 races, the German hasstruggled in qualifying this year. His average starting position is 8thand he's been outqualified by his teammate 12-3.& v; E5 n7 w% G9 t0 K) h- p: w
The announcement also puts to rest reports that BMW-Sauber wereconsidering making a run for Fernando Alonso in 2009. The Spaniard isbelieved to be considering his options for next year with Honda andRenault now looking like the two most obvious options available for him.) v3 ~2 y" I3 N) T3 v [
