how often do i hv to change my transmission fluid.  someone told me i don't hv to change it until 100 thousand mile.  is that true?

裡面寫得好清楚，因為你沒有告訴你的是甚麼車，所以未能解答你的問題
近年有好多新車已經寫明係life time的，但係我都係幫自已架車換左

thank you for your quick response,  i got 06 Acura MDX only 30,000 mile so far, living in US.  how often should i do my transmission fluid even it say lifetime.  thx again

你自已可以拿出波箱油尺睇下波箱油是否已轉咖啡色
如果已轉就換左佢
另外留意一下尾牙油，差唔多夠時間換

B4 I start , this is the car I am driving...with 56,000 miles



here is my 2 cents...

I change my motor oil every 2500-3000 miles.

Transmission oil & VTM-4 every 30,000 miles.
But make sure u go back to the dealer to get the ATF-Z1 oil if
u don't want to screw up ur tranny & warranty.
I just had both changed at 55,000. bcos I am ready to drive to Canada
this summer.(From East to West)
for the VTM-4 oil....get a gallon from the dealer too...(they don't sell it by qt)
but u just need 3 qts of it....I still have 1 qt left in my store room...

how could you keep ur engine so clean? how did u clean that?  also what is 尾牙油 in English.  thx.

Most owner's manuals say it isn't necessary. Yeah, right. That's why transmission shops are making a fortune replacing burned out automatic transmissions.

For optimum protection, change the fluid and filter every 30,000 miles (unless you have a new vehicle that is filled with Dexron III ATF which is supposed to be good for 100,000 miles).

尾牙油=VTM-4


波箱油=ATF-Z1


去 Dealer 買一 加侖 VTM-4...
同買一箱 ATF-Z1...12 Qt(成 箱買平D)
波箱油每次只可 drain 到4 Qt....成个波箱入 8 Qt油
換完第一次之後...下次換 motor oil 再換 4 Qt...
咁又揸到三萬咪先換...
VTM-4 都係...三萬咪換一次...咁架車就襟玩D...

Also, I never steam cleaning my engine...
therefore, I have no answer to ur question.

啱啱睇到....原來係有 filter...不過我都冇換

Spring $1.20
Filter Gasket $2.26
Filter O-ring $3.26
Crush Washers x 2 $0.34
ATF Filter $10.68


The filter can easily be reached by removing the battery and air intake assembly. I also removed the Brake electrical connector shown with the arrow. The main bolt is 17mm and the three perimeter bolts on the housing are 10mm. A gear wrench would make it easier, but I did it with box end wrenches.


TA-DA...a job well done.
