1960 年代的美治琉球時期，出生蔗糖農家的比嘉暢子，與家人住在沖繩，閒時在家她會幫忙打理一些農務工作，另外，由於性格較為好動，喜歡四處遊樂。而且，她自幼便十分喜愛吃東西，夢想要成為一位廚師。後來，暢子爸爸過身，她便協助媽媽打理家中的飲食，減輕媽媽因要獨力承擔養家庭重任帶來的責任。當暢子高中畢業，在家人支持下，獨自前往東京實現成為西餐廚師的夢想，她在知名餐廳的廚房學習，並相遇不少來自沖繩的朋友。暢子在成為廚師的旅途上，碰上了不少困難，但不會令暢子感到氣餒，她繼續堅持，為廚師及開設一家沖繩料理餐廳的夢想，奮力前行。
