故事內容描述從小就因為長得醜而被各種霸凌的女主角－姜美來，在一次又一次的告白失敗之後，下定決心要去自殺，結果連自殺都因為長得太醜被路人勒索而失敗，終於受不了這種人生的她，下定決心要去整形，最終在高中畢業後終於如願以償的全臉動刀，變成名符其實的「江南美人」！(小編註：韓國的整形醫院都集中在江南居多，所以一般會稱人造美女為江南美人）但原以為日子會變得更好的她，卻發現事情完全沒有像她所想像的一樣美好。
