芝加哥打字機劇情主要講述了1930年代日本帝國主義統治時期的文人們轉世重生到了現代，成為暢銷書作家、代筆作家和Anti後發生的故事。
陷入低潮的人氣作家韓世宙（劉亞仁飾）、與隱藏在其背後的代筆作家劉真吾（高庚杓飾）以及由狂熱冬粉轉為黑粉的獸醫田雪（林秀晶飾）三人與神秘的打字機之間的故事。
據悉，劉亞仁在劇中飾演超人氣暢銷作家韓世祖一角，敏感挑剔，小心謹慎，極具憂鬱感，後來陷入了低迷之中;林秀晶飾演從韓世祖的死忠飯變為anti飯一角，她是個獸醫修學者;高庚杓劇中飾演神秘幽靈作家一角;趙宇鎮飾演收到陷入低迷的作家韓世祖僱傭成為其神秘的幽靈代筆作家提案的角色，他是個金錢萬能主義者。
