The Rob Austin Racing team boss had a great start from third to lead into turn one in his Audi A4, and withstood early pressure from Honda Racing Team’s Shedden to extend his lead to more than three seconds at the flag.

It was also a hugely significant race in the championship battle, as Honda Racing Team’s Matt Neal had driven brilliantly to rise to fifth from 14th on the grid, before he stopped at Deene on lap 10.

Jason Plato, Dave Newsham, Jordan, Tom-Onslow Cole and Jeff Smith completed the top 10, with Onslow-Cole climbing up from 22nd in his first weekend for Motorbase Performance.
