On January 16, 2009, Israeli shells hit the Gaza home of Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish, instantly killing three of his daughters and a niece. For many people this would have led to a sense of abiding hatred, but for Dr Abuelish, who has worked in Israeli hospitals caring for patients and delivering babies of both Palestinians and Israelis, the opposite was the case.
