美國最資深白宮記者海倫．托馬斯(Helen Thomas)的僱主周一宣布，89歲的托馬斯退休，即時生效。托馬斯早前作出有關以色列的具爭議言論，遭白宮抨擊。

2 l5 u5 `  L4 N) B0 I' q: w托馬斯採訪過自甘迺迪總統以來的每一任總統，她上月27日在白宮出席一個猶太美國文化月慶祝會時，向一個網站說「以色列是時候由巴勒斯坦滾出去」。她表示猶太人應離開以色列，返回德國、波蘭或美國。

Just look at the barrage of criticism she had after this incident.  Perhaps her comment shared to some extent the sentiment from frustrated individuals who saw no justice is done after all these years for all the atrocities committed by Israel. The criticisms for her comment went out of line, tagging closely to antisemitism, supporter of the Holocaust, or even associate of Hezbollah. This is a politically correct world, pro-Israeli view would be the trend in the US. I miss so much of Edward Said, Noam Chomsky and Avi Shlaim.
