Liverpool have confirmed captain Steven Gerrard has returned home for treatment on a groin injury.
The England ace had been in Switzerland at the team's training camp preparing for Saturday's clash with Polish outfit Wisla Krakow.
Gerrard was an unused substitute in Wednesday's 2-1 win over Lucerne and will now miss next week's clash with Hertha Berlin. "Steven has a slight groin strain which will keep him out for between seven and 10 days," club spokesman Ian Cotton told the club's official website. "He has left the training camp to return to Melwood where he will receive treatment on the injury."
