From its arrival into the European field of war in the thirteenth century, gunpowder has totally changed the way men fight each other. In this programme, we follow ex-Marine Monty Halls, and archaeologist Stuart Prior, as they test the use of a canon, and the Three Band Enfield, against various targets for power and accuracy, as well as exploring how they destroy flesh by firing against a pig carcass.
