The Argentine striker is still regarded as one of the finest talents in European football, despite his struggles at Real Madrid since moving to the Bernabeu from archrivals Barcelona.
The 26-year-old was a free transfer signing for the Spanish champions when his contract at the Camp Nou expired last summer, yet he has so far made just six La Liga starts for his new club.
It is now being reported in Spain that Rafael Benitez is keen to take the 40-times capped Saviola to Anfield at the end of the season, with a £6million offer being lined up.
