ARSENAL are trailing a player called The Elephant.

Torpedo Moscow defender VYACHESLAV DMITRIEV, 17, got the nickname as he seems to move slowly but in reality is deceptively quick.

The Gunners fear that ?million-rated MATTHIEU FLAMINI is stalling on their contract offer so he can set up a lucrative move in the summer.

The Frenchman, 23, has been a revelation alongside Cesc Fabregas in midfield this season.

But Flamini’s contract is up in June and he has still not signed a fresh five-year deal offered more than a month ago.

The Gunners could double his wages to ?0,000 per week but he may prefer a move to Spain or Italy.
