He told BBC Essex: ‘Helicopters fly past lower than the crane all the time. You rely on the fact that it is a very safe route for the helicopters and they are meant to stick over the river. 英國一架商用直升機16日上午在倫敦市中心沃克斯霍爾火車站附近墜毀，17日警方持續封鎖失事現場附近地區展開調查，初步推斷失事原因可能是天候因素，因當天倫敦起霧，能見度不佳。

這起墜機事故已造成2人死亡，13人受傷，其中一名遇難者是50歲的直升機駕駛員皮特·巴恩斯(Peter Barnes)，曾在007系列電影《擇日而亡》中參與演出，被譽為是英國最優秀的直升機駕駛員之一。

倫敦直升機場公司表示，這架直升機因天氣原因改變航線，試圖降落在位於市中心巴特西的直升機停機坪，不料卻撞上一棟在興建中大樓頂部的吊塔。
