Earth Hour是什麼？
2007年，受全球氣候暖化影響，造成澳洲地區的降雨創下歷史新低，是澳洲史上最乾旱的一年，而且是持續第五年的乾旱。連續的乾旱，已使得澳洲的農產--棉花產量減少，連同最大城市--雪梨的有效蓄水量也大量降低。民生跟產業的需求已經到了危急的地步。


世界自然基金會(WWF)開始在雪梨發起"地球一小時"『Earth Hour』的活動，呼籲當地的人們都必須重視此一事實，而且採取立即的行動。2007年的3月31日當天晚間，整個雪梨除了街道以外，其餘建築物、商店關上電燈，共同為了減少溫室氣體而努力。


時至今日，Earth Hour發展成全球為因應氣候變遷最大型的呼籲：每個人---無論年齡、階級等背景，都有改變世界的能力與責任。2011年，Earth Hour已集合有5,200多個城市，135個國家，億萬人共同的承諾。

怎麼響應Earth  Hour?


2012年3月31日晚上八點半無論你在何處，也一定要召集身邊的夥伴，一起關燈一小時，顯示出我們對於氣候變遷絕不輕言放棄的決心！

您可以這樣做：

於3/31（六）20：30~21：30關閉室內外不必要的電器，走到戶外享受無碳排放的夜晚。發起可以呼應Earth Hour精神的祈福或響應活動.

For most of us, we stay up long after the sun goes down. We watch TV, stay up on our PC, listen 2 music, read or whatever else we do with the lights on.
What's wrong w that?

Well, we're using more energy than we used to back when people didn't hve artificial lighting , but we're also missing out on all of the fun things to do in the dark!

Lights off Fun things to to in the dark, or like Blue Boy, said do something fun in the dark. Observing Earth Hour Need Not Be Boring or Doing Nothing.

3****Go For A Walk
4****Stargaze
5****Make Music
6****Play Games
7****Meditate/Yoga
8****Talk/Chat/Gossip/Discuss w someone

Which One u doing Blue Boy?

Brooklyn boy telling ghost story to Cal Cammy...so Cammy get really scare n u can hold her hands?
N then hum a sweet melody, sing a song, n play a lovely tune
Play a little game n chat all night long in the darkness with only momentum...of sounds n touch...

hahaha....see observing earth hour like Blue Boy is quite interesting, n fruitful, not a tough thing at all ...

What say the rest of u eh?
Would be a whole new experience doing stuff without lights, might give us some new insights as well,
worth the effort d...

Yes, support fully. The Earth Hour is a great event; and as a Sydneysider, for once I am proud that it had started from here. Will definitely observe it. Even to the extent to unpluging all the laptops and pcs.
But Kimmy, seriously, as for #2 *** , we might have to delay it by a couple of hours, and candle lit only.
