Gunners to trial Congo star - 12 Nov 2007
Arsenal are reportedly set to hand Congo international Tresor Mputu a 10-day trial.
The 21-year-old currently plays for TP Mazembe and the club's director Salomon Idi Kalonda has revealed that talks have been ongoing.
"We've received an invitation from Arsenal for Mputu," he is quoted as saying in the News of the World.
"Talks began a long time ago but we didn't want to say anything before an agreement was reached.

"We ruled out a number of clubs before choosing Arsenal."
Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists that Jens Lehmann is remaining professional during his time on the bench.
Lehmann has lost his place to Manuel Almunia, who filled in for the Germany international while he was sidelined through injury.
Since returning to fitness, Lehmann has yet to wrestle the first-team jersey off the Spaniard, sparking rumours that he could be set for a January move out of the club.
But Wenger believes there is still plenty of time for the stopper to win his place back in the side.
Best keeper
"If the situation is still like this in January we will see. We are still in November. November and December is plenty of time to win his place back," said Wenger.
"He is up for the challenge because he is 200 per cent professional.
"Jens doesn't want any presents. Jens wants to play because he thinks he is the best keeper.
