用舌頭「看」世界

英國一名43歲警員David Rathband於去年7月於追捕一名槍殺女友的嫌犯時，遭槍擊臉部，導致失明。不過，他將可透過創新BrainPort技術，用舌頭看世界！

這項BrainPort技術由美國人發明，可以讓失明人士「看」到物體及形狀。儀器通過裝置在墨鏡上的攝錄鏡頭拍攝物體，再將物體信息轉化為電子信號，然後透過藏有數百電極的細小探針傳送至舌頭，再轉送至大腦，將之轉化為影像。

Rathband希望能透過這項嶄新的技術讓他再次「視」物，但他必須先籌措16,000英磅（港幣約19.4萬元）。

This is really amazing how the brain works. Although the image data was not carried by the original channel (this case the eyes), we could gather the image data and send to brain through other channel (this case the tongue) via nerve fibers. The brain can analysis the data and interpret the image. It is amazing how brain can work this out !
