There might be a mix up, I don't think it's a "樹熊" koala; koala won't survive in a cage for more than a couple of days. Most likely it is a fat tree possum, they are native to Australia, but are classified as pest in New Zealand; and over there they are actually trapped and being to export to China as a delicacy or some sort of exotic meat.
